2013 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Calf Scramble



We arrived in Houston at 4:40 pm. 
I am so ready to get this show on the road.




Roll Call started at 5:00 pm




You are no longer called by your name.  Your names is now the number on your shirt.  As you can see, I was 21....

 Director throws 30 (thirty) Gold dollars and tells everyone to grab one. 



Then they tell you that this is how it will be trying to catch a calf, except there is only 12 calfs with 30 kids....


 

AND THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE BEING FUNNY



The cops said that 25 and I were flirting while we were supposed to be exercising.


We were united as Calf Scrambles for life.....

Today is the day....

I woke up early this morning.  I will be going to school until 11:20 am.  Then we will be headed to Houston, TX.  I will be participating in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Calf Scramble.

MAIL CALL

I received a letter in the mail today. 



I can not wait to see what is in the letter.

I was accepted to participate in the 2013 Calf Scramble on Monday, March 4.


The excitement is beginning to build.....

It is now time to make sure that I am in shape.

It All Started Here:

Hello!  My name is Caitlyn Glawson.  I am a 15 year old Sophomore at Orangefield High School in Texas.  I am currently on the FFA Show Team.  I currently show my Beefmaster Heifer, Maggie Moo.

When I heard about the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Calf Scramble, I was very excited to be able to participate in this event.  I knew that there was alot of hard work going into this. 

So, I went to work and completed my appliction and essay. 


Then, the waiting game began.......
